Incident danger levels at the Chemiepark Linz

 

 

Danger Level I

Characterization

  • An incident and the resultant operations or activities, which are only clearly perceivable at the CPL and/or

  • another incident, which is not included in Levels II-IV, but is of environmental and/or safety relevance and/or is subject to obligatory reporting under the Water Protection Act.



MEASURES

  • Activation of operational management/stand-by
  • In the case of a) Level 1 – issue of an internal CPL report
  • In the case of b) Level 1 – issue of a report to the local government authority

Danger Level II

Characterization

  • An incident that can be clearly perceived outside the Chemiepark Linz (which is not included in Levels II-IV) and is characterized primarily by 
    - clouds of smoke, excessively large clouds of
      steam
    - loud and/or lengthy noise
    - powerful malodors
    - operations of the company fire services outside
      the Chemiepark (e.g. oil operations at the
      cooling water outlet)
    - the request for the emergency assistance of the
      Linz Professional Fire Service

MEASURES

  • An internal CPL warning may be required
  • Activation of operational management/stand-by
  • Assumption of emergency management by the Linz Professional Fire Service (if present)
  • Issue of immediate and incident reports
  • Internal CPL information 

Danger Level III

Characterization

  • An incident that can be clearly perceived outside the Chemiepark Linz, but is also additionally linked to the possibility of danger external to the CPL (i.e. measures must be taken outside the CPL) and is characterized primarily by
    - clouds of smoke, excessively large clouds of 
      steam
    - loud and/or lengthy noise
    - powerful malodors
    - operations of the company fire services outside
      the Chemiepark (e.g. oil operations at the
      cooling water outlet)
    - the request for the emergency assistance of the
      Linz Professional Fire Service  
       


MEASURES

  • An internal CPL warning may be required
  • Activation of operational management/stand-by
  • Assumption of emergency management by the Linz Professional Fire Service (if present)
  • Issue of immediate and incident reports
  • Internal CPL information
  • Additional warning outside the CPL required

Danger Level IV

Characterization

  • An incident of disaster dimensions


MEASURES

  • An internal CPL warning may be required
  • Activation of operational management/stand-by
  • Assumption of emergency management by the Linz Professional Fire Service (if present)
  • Issue of immediate and incident reports
  • Internal CPL information
  • Additional warning outside the CPL required
  • Convening of additional, internal CPL and external crisis teams
